ABOUT STUDIO SMITHS
Studio Smiths is a London-based interior design studio working with private clients and property developers across the UK. We take on a considered number of projects each year, giving every space, and every client, the attention they deserve.
Founded by Creative Director Courtney Giles, the studio operates with an intimate, hands-on approach. From the first conversation to the final installation, you work directly with the person who holds your vision.
Beautiful interiors aren't designed. They're discovered.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We don't arrive at a project with a signature look. We arrive with questions. What do you love? How do you live? What does this space need to become?
Good design is quiet. It doesn't announce itself. It simply makes a room feel exactly right.
At Studio Smiths, we believe in considered over trend, restraint over excess and quality that is built to last. We source from craftsmen, artisans and suppliers whose work we trust, people who share our belief that the things we surround ourselves with should be considered, lasting and worth every detail.
The result is always deeply personal. No two Studio Smiths projects look alike, because no two clients are.

An initial consultation to understand your project scope, timeline, budget and vision. We ask the questions that shape everything that follows.

Mood boards, spatial planning and design direction brought together into a cohesive concept. Your vision, refined and brought to life.

Technical documentation, 3D visualisations and meticulous FF&E schedules. Every material, finish and furniture piece considered in full.

We manage procurement, coordinate with contractors and suppliers, and oversee installation so the result matches the vision, every time.

With nine years of experience in residential interiors, Ashleigh brings meticulous attention to detail and a genuine creative flair to every project. She works across material specifications, technical drawings, spatial planning and FF&E, delivering beautiful spaces from brief to completion.

Meet the founder behind Studio Smiths
Courtney Giles
Founder & Creative Director
The founder and creative force behind Studio Smiths, Courtney grew up in Sydney with a deep curiosity for the built environment and the way people live within it, a curiosity that led her to study Interior Design at Raffles College of Design & Commerce.
Her early career was shaped by one of Australia's largest staging and interior design companies, where she developed her eye for proportion, colour and materials across some of Sydney's most impressive homes. It was formative, hands-on and deeply rewarding work.
Since relocating to London in 2018, she has collaborated with leading UK developers on show home and marketing suite fit-outs, and built a strong portfolio of private residential projects across the country. Her work brings together creative direction and technical detail, allowing her to move confidently from concept to delivery.
Courtney leads Studio Smiths with a calm and collaborative approach. She is known for her attention to detail, her thoughtful use of colour and pattern and her ability to create homes that feel warm, balanced and quietly refined. Her design language is shaped by simplicity, natural materials and a genuine interest in how people live.
Outside the studio, Courtney can often be found exploring London’s neighbourhoods, visiting countryside villages or seeking out a great coffee.
