Studio Smiths was appointed to deliver the FF&E design and light refurbishment of a three-bedroom show apartment within the world class Chelsea Waterfront development, situated on the Thames waterfront.
The brief was to honour the breathtaking river views, working with a light and neutral colour palette that complemented the existing interior architecture, materials and finishes throughout. The scheme needed to feel practical and liveable while conveying a sense of luxury and sophistication, speaking directly to international buyers seeking a refined and contemporary London residence.
The Concept
Warmth, serenity and a quiet sense of luxury.
Our concept centred on creating a show apartment that felt genuinely inhabitable rather than merely impressive. By combining creamy hues, soft textures and natural materials, we aimed to evoke a sense of warmth and serenity that would resonate with discerning buyers from the moment they stepped inside.
Rich fabrics including cashmere, velvet and silk in milky whites, soft beiges and warm honey tones set a serene and inviting tone throughout. Furniture was selected for both its beauty and its comfort, with an emphasis on soft curves and inviting silhouettes. Plush sofas and ottomans were arranged in a way that promotes conversation and fosters a warm and intimate ambiance, allowing residents to savour moments of rejuvenation and togetherness.
Natural materials including reclaimed wood, stone and woven fibres brought an authentic warmth to the apartment, while textured wallpapers and upholstered pieces with delicate patterning added depth and tactile interest. Throughout, the river views remained the quiet focal point, with every design decision made in service of the space rather than in competition with it.
