The Brief
A city retreat, restored to its full potential.
This project came to us through a busy professional couple who live and work in the heart of London. After purchasing their new home, which had been a rental property for several years, the apartment was tired and in need of a considered refresh. The brief was to create a sophisticated urban retreat that reflected their modern lifestyle, maximised space for entertaining and took full advantage of the breathtaking views over London's city centre.
With frequent travel and demanding schedules, the clients needed Studio Smiths to take complete ownership of the process. We delivered a full turnkey service from design direction through to project management, overseeing the complete refurbishment and installation of the three-bedroom apartment from start to finish.

The Concept
Designed around the view.
To create a relaxed yet elegant interior, we worked with a sophisticated blend of clean lines, sumptuous textures and rich finishes. Marble, brass and velvet brought depth and warmth, while textured silk wallpapers added visual interest and a quiet sense of luxury. Neutral tones grounded the palette, with considered pops of colour preventing the scheme from feeling too restrained.
The panoramic views over London were central to every design decision. Mirror placements and furniture layouts were thoughtfully composed to frame and celebrate those views from the key living areas, the dining room and the principal bedroom, ensuring the city beyond became as much a part of the interior as the finishes within it.
